Church Holiday Information

Several of the picture groupings below are tied to specific church days.
Below you can find a short explanation of each day, and its significance.

Shrove Tuesday - Celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday, Shrove Tuesday (also called “Pancake Tuesday” or “Pancake Day”) is the final day before the 40-day period of Lent begins. At Resurrection we celebrate this day in one of our members homes with a pancake dinner, followed by a short service and the Imposition of Ashes for all present.

Maundy Thursday - The Thursday in Holy Week. It is part of the Triduum, or three holy days before Easter. Maundy Thursday commemorates the institution of the Eucharist by Jesus “on the night he was betrayed." At Resurrection we bring this celebration of the Eucharist out to the community.
